Brooklyn Interlude

Not that Brooklyn, the other one. The Brooklyn that is a suburb of Wellington that, like most things in New Zealand, is up a hill. Some friends of mine went on a long trip to Scotland, and I was invited to house sit for them (and their two wonderful cats!) while they were away. The views were pretty fantastic and give a good sense of the fact that Wellington is not actually that big.

The city is very pretty at night.

I also caught some pretty fabulous sunsets while there, some of which I was able to document in handy picture format.

Brooklyn is connected to Wellington by Central Park (yes, really), and one day I decided to take a hike up the hill rather than the bus. It was fall, so the park wasn't quite as lush as it can be, but it was still beautiful. New Zealand really is a perfect backdrop for a fantasy tale, and wandering through the park one could easily imagine being in Mirkwood or Lothlórien. Or, in some places, Endor.
